Project Steven Update: A Superhero Mission & The 9kg Milestone!

Next episode:

Hey there, friend! I’m back with a huge update, and boy, do I have a story to tell you about last Thursday!
Imagine this: it was still completely dark outside, and a cold winter morning wind was blowing. My mom wrapped me up so snug and warm, and we had to be awake before the sun even thought about rising. Guess what our ride was? A big ambulance gave us a lift! It felt like a real superhero mission zooming through the dark.

When we got to Dora Nginza Hospital, the halls were already packed with so many people. We had to wait in long, long queues. Because I can’t quite stand up on my own feet yet, when it was my turn to see how much I’ve grown, I got to lie down flat on a special baby scale. And guess what? The scale didn’t lie—I am up to 9 kg now! Can you believe it? Just one more kilogram to go until I reach that magic 10 kg mark for my new liver! But eating like a champion to gain weight means my mom has to feed me five times a day now, just like the dietician said. Because I’m eating so much of my special healthy food, everything is finished!

My poor mom got so stressed on Thursday because time was running out, and she was terrified the transport would leave us behind in the clinic. She had to rush to catch our ride, which meant she didn’t have time to stop at the hospital dietician’s room to collect my special PreNAN milk and Jikela porridge.
Don’t worry, though—our friends from SSvP are on the mission! They are going to talk to the dietician right here in Port Alfred to collect milk and porridge stocks on Monday. Then, on Tuesday morning, our friend, on his way to the PE airport, is going to do a special drop-off with my Mom, so my tummy stays full and happy.

I’m so close to the finish line, friend. My body is fighting hard, my mom is doing amazing, and with my team behind me, I know I’m going to make it to 10 kg soon!
Your friend,
Steven
